Dookie Calls

Thursday the day we record a podcast. I suppose it should be known as the day we attempt to record podcast. Tonight will be our second attempt at recording episode 50. After sitting down with Audiomaster G last night I am 95% sure we will get it done this time. 5% chance of failure is actually about right and par for the course. Even in this digital age, software and distance can make audio recording so fun. Plus G got a new nick name out of the deal.

We played the Breach demo last night. The trial version lasted a total of thirty minutes, which was a bloody good thing. First match was a lag fest, filled with hopping characters and random death. Second and third matches had no lag. That is about the only good thing you can say about them. The art was rather poor. The destructible environments weren’t great and much better done by dice. Overall Breach was not a fun time and not even close to worth 1200 points. I think as a crew we would be better off grabbing Monday Night Combat or something like it. I would endorse some kind of XBL Arcade shooter for group nights.

Speaking of Audiomaster G, we may finally be putting together a music podcast. No idea at this point who will be on the show or the format. We have some ideas obviously and after talking G for a good hour about music I was impressed. We share the same feelings on respect for an artist’s talent even if were not huge in to their music. While I intend to keep putting my full effort in to Wonderpod, doing something like this once in a while will be a blast.

The court of public opinion is becoming very nasty to me. It seems that your are guilty until proven innocent in that arena. Even if your eventually proved innocent in a court of law, public opinion still seems set to damn you. I fear the internet has made this far worse than it was a decade ago. Small minded morons clogging up the air waves with their drivel on the latest potential wrong doing. I think the reason this bothers me so much is the long term affects of this sentiment. Right now your innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Which is good and as it should be. Yet I have to wonder how long until this idiotic public sentiment starts to ooze it’s way to that arena. After all judges, lawyers and juries are human are they not

If you haven’t see the latest marketing Parody from the Bulletstorm guys, I highly recommend you check it out. They take a solid shot at the Call of Duty franchise in the process. Having played COD since it’s first incarnation, I had no trouble laughing at this. All I can say Bulletstorm had better be a solid game. It is never smart to anger your competition if your product is in fact junk. For those saying this is the first time anyone’s dared take shots at COD, you would be wrong! The most recent I can remember is a few smart ass lines from Battlefield Bad Company 2. They fit perfect in the story and were hilarious. Parody is fine as long as the people dishing it out can take it. Because you know the guys at Epic etc, are going to get it at some point. If you haven’t “played” Duty Calls here is a link.

A music podcast sounds cool, by no means do I consider myself a great musician, but I do try to make some stuff now and then. Which reminds me that if you guys ever need some more music, I have some songs which may sound good in the background, if you're interested.

It is an idea G and I have kicked around for a while. I suspect will get something going here shortly

Glasenator , I think its a good idea to at least try some music/ sounds in-between segments of Wonderpod, to see how it would flow.

And much like Bruces cool intro and final tunes , it would be good if it was inhouse. Quick fading music or sound effects in between segments, however, nothing long lasting at all. Just enough to have an audio cue, other than a voice, to distinguish that a segment is beginning or ending. Enough for the listener to make a connection that one part of the show is finished and another has now begun. This has made other podcast "feel" less like they drag on when I listen to them. An interesting idea, Glasenator.

e-mail me a couple tracks Glasenator, I have never been real happy with the exit cut for Wonderpod. As to segment music, well I personally don't see the point and it is more work. That said if enough people feel we should do it I am willing to work it in a few episodes down the road.

I understand the extra work part and you do all the edit work, and do it very well, but it might be worth looking into some time when you have time. Can always change it back if you dont like it. As for a music podcast, that would be a cool idea, hope you guys do one sometime !

Plans are underway for the podcast. Also… @glaser, you should send me tracks too. I'd like to check'em out.
