Wonderpod Episode 128

Another wild and wacky Wonderpod is ready to go. (jazz hands) This week show returns to some topics from last weeks. We then make fun of other stuff and as a special bonus we sacrifice a chicken live on the show. No actual chickens were injured in the recording of this podcast. It really sucks writing this some weeks.

    – A FPS with a lot of exploration, big worlds to explore and backtrack within to open new areas?

    Metroid Prime said "Hi"

I don't remember Metroid Prime's world being the size of Skyrim. That said Metroid Prime is an excellent example of big world FPS.

"FPA," actually. Or at least that is what Nintendo attempted to call it at the time, but I don't think anyone listened to them. It might be probably a better way to explain it as it had a LOT of adventure and exploration. Metroid Prime took place first on some base type thingy in the vastness of outer space, then onto a big world. Well, "big" for its time , in the Gamecube era. I am sure with the WiiU coming out soon, 2 generations later , they could make much larger worlds for another MP game. ( shit, the Gamecube is getting OLD).

I think Cliffy B would have his hands full balancing a huge world like Skyrim , along with RPG elements, and a true FPS. Still , it might work out and mix things up a bit in both types of games? RPG guys that don't play FPS & FPS guys who don't play RPG's( Hi ) might actually try it and see what they have been missing.
