PatMan Picks Some Of His Favorite Games At E3.

Another E3 has come and gone , and this one was particularly interesting as new consoles were announced. The PS4 looks very strong with a great emphasis on gamers and games.  Microsoft and the Xbox One console is equally impressive, and has the extra features that only Kinect 2.0  can deliver.  However MS dug themselves into a public relations hole that is growing exponentially and Sony took complete advantage of this, while  the sad lemmings on forums, Reddit and Youtube overreacted with even more ridiculousness than usual.  I didn’t get to pay as much attention to E3 this year as I have in other years because, well, you know, real life.  I’m sure I missed out on some great things from the big 3 companies, but here’s my personal list in no particular order of some of the games that I’m very excited about. Video games are about experiencing and enjoying something you LIKE , something you want and something that’s going to be fun for you . Video games are not about bitching like a little baby all over the Internet, overreacting  because that’s what all the other lemmings on Facebook are doing, and crying over something  that you wont buy in the future anyways. You will see no PS4 games on my list as I am a Nintendo/ MS fan. But make no mistake, unlike a fanboy, I do see a lot of great things coming from Sony and without a doubt they won this years E3. Now, on to my personal list of games that I am excited about.

Mario Kart 8.

What happens when you combine the addictive fun of Mario Kart ,the anti-gravity of super Mario Galaxy and toss some inspiration from F-ZERO into the mix?  You get the amazing looking Mario kart 8 that’s what you get!  Throw in  some absolutely beautiful high definition graphics , the ability to play on the game-pad  when someone else is using the television and you have one of my most anticipated games of the year! This game will be a hell of a lot of fun online and offline and it could very well be the best Mario Kart yet, which is saying a LOT.

Titanfall

The developers of the original Call Of Duty series are finally back, now known as Respawn Studios. Forget about the boring politics and lawsuits that went on for the last couple years between these guys and the former boss, now it is time to see the game in action. Take a look at how awesome this game looks to be. A great-looking multi player first-person shooter experience from the developers of the original Modern Warfare that allows you to jump into giant mechanized Titans and kick some serious ass all over your Xbox One console? Yes Please!  Titanfall  looks like great online fun  and it could be very competitive , it’s definitely a game I’m watching out for and worth getting excited about on the Xbox One.

Super Smash Brothers

Super Smash Brothers is back!  I don’t even have to say more at this point, because Super Smash Bros is one of the biggest games on any Nintendo system, but I will say more because I need to make a paragraph here.  Not only is smash brothers back but this time it is on both the 3DS and the WiiU. So far, Mega Man and the Wii Fit trainer have been announced as new characters, but there is bound to be more. I am sure some people will love kicking the crap out of that Wii Fit Trainer, LOL . Any game that takes the most famous and long loved characters in video game history , mashes them up together into awesome  battling scenarios and looks this good is definitely a game that should be on everyone’s radar, and it probably is.

Killer Instinct.
When the trailer popped up for Killer Instinct  during the MS press conference at E3 I have to admit the old school RARE fan in me exploded with Joy and even after learning the game is being co developed, I am still very excited about what potential fun KI will be.  For me, I was hoping for a Banjo Kazooie platform game to be honest , however KI was definitely a very close second on my hopes list.  When I heard the original announcer’s voice yell ” Ulllltra combo” !  I was in old school fighting game heaven . Rumour has it you will able to pay for the entire game upfront instead of in the small micro transaction chunks of a F2P game.  I’m hoping that the Killer Instinct reboot will be just as amazing as the Mortal Kombat reboot was a few years ago. C-C-C-Combobreaker!! I wont be playing on the couch with my friends like in the old days, but I will be playing with them online over XBL, at least I hope.

And there you have it, some of my favorite games that I saw at e3 this year. I hope that everyone enjoyed the show and that you spent more time enjoying what you are interested in and  that you wasted less time bashing things you are never going to buy in the first place! Well, unless you were 12 and thats what you do when your 12, then carry on. Anyways,  have fun playing games everyone! See you all on the flip-side.
