Luigi Is God

I love this time of year as far as video games are concerned. Nothing major coming out, so I can catch up on my back log. Although that term back log, only applies to some games when you think about it. There are so many games each year I never get to and meant to play. A lot times I just forget about them entirely. The current game I am battling my way through is Darksiders. A lot of people called it a Zelda clone and it does have its Zelda elements. The story and themes in the game are not something you would ever see Nintendo allowing with the Zelda series. PatMan calls it Zelda for adults and that is the perfect description for it. Some of the environmental puzzles are a pain, so you will be reminded of Zelda.

Our good buddies JCC and DanMan are back on the internet and the same as ever. They started a new site called BTW, actually. If you loved the old Morphine Nation then I suggest you give them a visit. The story of how this site came to be is long and can be found there, but the changing of names does bring to a close a historic Internet presence. The Morphine Nation started as simple forums for the comedy group Morphine Associates. It went from there to a blog and it is place I spent the most time from 2003 on. In fact when you read any of my fiction work, it is directly influenced by my time spent at MN. Oh and if your unfamiliar with the Morphine Associates, you probably know at least one of its members. He is kind of a big deal now over at Destructoid. His partner in Crime Leo Van Krinks does some excellent music that you can find on itunes.

One of the major things I consider a bummer about my life skill set is I can’t draw. A sad stick figure is about the best I can manage. Sure with the advent of Photo Shop I can shit out banners and even some good ones on occasion. Still I can’t draw and one of my biggest complaints about that is I would love to do a comic. To do that I would need to find an artist who would let me write and give them some of my crazy character ideas. While that task isn’t impossible there are very few web comic duo’s that stand the test of time. The boys at Penny Arcade and LICD/LFG come to mind. While I don’t think I can write near as well as Sohmer or Brahe, I am pretty sure I can create something entertaining

I am only at 300 words and have nothing left current to talk about. I guess I could tell you all a story. I am sure you have been good little boys and girls. Okay so here is a story on the dangers of drinking. Never and I mean never drink so much that getting shot in your bare ass with a BB gun sounds like an entertaining idea. That is a life pro tip and I expect you sods to use it. In case your curious the BB gun was a daisy red rider (not very powerful) and the shooter was a good distance away from the bare bottom in question. Good thing it wasn’t a .45 and a bare ass.

Fearing death is foolish, being aware of it is genius.

Cheers for the plug, and Hail Luigi. May he spunk in the eyes of your enemies and your protein-deficient friends.

If you're looking to do comics, and don't mind doing surreal stuff, you can make your illustrations itentionally bad for effect. Or even use the old message board method, with a series of small pictures followed by a line of dialogue.

And speaking of the Morphine Associates and comics, I'm still waiting on "Sir Elton John: The Vampire Slayer."
