Crysis Tough

Well the week is flying by and it’s closer to the recording of Wonderpod. For once I am happy about it as there are things a foot for this weekend. I am normally not a social guy, but a few times a year I do like to attend some events and catch up with people I haven’t seen in a while. The trick will be to not drink to much. As I get a few more years under my belt, karma has decided I am to be blessed with horrible hangovers these days.

Played the Crysis 2 demo last night with the Wonderpod crew. While there were a few aspects I liked about the multi-player, there wasn’t that much new. To me the game was the bastard child of Halo and COD. I have really gotten tired of that type of shooter personally. I think I am pretty much the only one and the game will probably sell millions. For my money I think I would rather gamble on Home Front giving me a good experience. For no other reason than to tell THQ and the developers that I appreciate them trying something different. There is still a slight chance I will pick up Crysis, but I wasn’t impressed enough with the demo to say it’s a day one purchase. The Bullet Storm demo is very short. Yet the amusing ways you can kill people appeals to me. I have no intention of caring about anything other than the single player if I do buy that game. In the end it all comes down to amount of cash I have. Bullet Storm is in February, Crysis and Home Front in March. Then Gears of War 3 in early April. Lot of shooters in a short time again.

So I sat down last weekend and watch some football(American). It was interesting and I won a few bucks by correctly picking the eventual winners. Particularly I watched the Bears versus the Packers as Aaron Rodgers was born here in my home area. I watched Jay Cutler get battered in that game with almost no offensive line in front of him as well. So I for one wasn’t surprised at him being benched with an injury in the second half. What did surprise me was the amount of outrage and backlash that came after the game. Okay the other football players trashing him for not playing on a bad knee I can accept. The sports writers and bloggers however kind of piss me off. I wonder how many of you fat bastards have ever played on a sprained MCL. Sure it wasn’t torn, but I bet anything it was still painful as hell. Factor in that the poor guy can’t be shot with cortisone due to his diabetes and that is just brutal. Look if you want to rag on the guy, because he is not friendly to the press or a leader etc then say that you fucks. Knuckle head writers questioning someones toughness always annoys me. The truth is they all hate him because he isn’t friendly with them. That is the real issue here.

Recently while watching the History channel I was subjected to about four episodes of Ancient Aliens. Sure I could of changed the channel, but this show was pretty fascinating from an aspect that you might not be aware of. Follow me on this. Basically that show attempts to prove that most of ancient mans greatest accomplishments were created by aliens. To my mind the people trying to prove this really don’t want to give humanity credit for anything. They are basically say that humans are so stupid that aliens had to pop in from time to time and help out. I even saw a show were they claimed all our modern technology came from the Roswell crash. I kind of find it insulting, that these experts think humanity wasn’t smart enough to create anything important. Maybe it’s just me.

That boy is like a bullet train that forgot the driver.
