It astonishes me that games that would be considered mediocre flash games become cultural hits on the mobile platforms. Then again, one of the games on the Playstation Store is Super Motherload, which is in and of itself a remake of a popular flash game on Newgrounds.

That being said, apparently the game is being pulled from the market.

Flappy Bird ( Free) is apparently getting pretty popular in the land of iOS. I downloaded it a few hours ago, and played for 5 mins. I think I am already done with it. Anyone here play it yet?

Anyone download Angry Birds Go yet? It is "free" but has lots of IAP's, of course. So far, I have played about 5 races, or missions, or whatever they are. Its decent fun, I do like that it is a downhill kart racer and not another physics puzzle Angry Birds game. And, thus far, I have not had to even think about any IAP's yet, so I will keep playing, but I bet you wont get too far into the game without having to buy some upgrades. Its decent fun, controls ok and is a free download, so I recommend it.

Not sure how long it has been free or how long it will stay free so get downloading. I have heard some good things about Mikey Shorts and also the newest game, Mikey Hooks. Here is the trailer for Mikey Shorts. Free is always the best price !

Already got it the last time it went free, and enjoyed it. Albeit a bit repetitive, it's an interesting little game, but I have already mastered it to the point where the trek to actually beat the game felt like a grind, so I never finished it. It's a game that banks on slowing the progress down substantially to justify microtransactions, and I never liked games that do that. It's still worth a play if you've never played it, certainly a fun little diversion on the go.

IAPs suck ass. And sometimes a cheap iOS game ends up costing up to 10 bucks anyways, if you are not careful. It is one of the reasons I look for all the free games of the week, so I can avoid all that crap.
If I can get Infinity Blade 3 for half the price of Oceanhorn, or Lili for 1.99 (or less), I just can't get myself to spend the 9 bucks on it, yet. But, as I said, if I get a fancy wancy tablet, that might change.

Philosophically, I would rather they charge me the 9 bucks up front, instead of hitting me up for more money here and there throughout the game, and I know we have to pay for quality entertainment in order for it to be made, but... Yeah, in this market, it better be a damn good game if it's going to ask for triple the price of the higher end competition.

I really need to get an newer iOS device. Mostly because I want to. That said my personal limit on mobile games at the moment is about 2 bucks. I suspect they will be having a sale shortly.
