Not a big fan of Dynasty Warriors, so putting a Zelda skin on it wont make me buy it. But still, it looks like decent hack and slash fun to me.

Whether hack and slash button mashing is your thing or not this is a good sign to me. It means the big N is trying different things and hopefully will see more. Plus I admit watching the hardcore fan boys flailing over this is hilarious.

Nintendo partnering up with 3rd parties to beef up the library is fine by me. Namco Bandai on the new Smash Bros, Platinum on Wonderful 101, exclusive DLC for the WiiU version of Sonic Lost World with Sega... no problems as long as the quality stays high.
Never played a Dynasty Warriors game, Hyrule Warriors looks like it could be interesting, if not a good time waster.

I've been playing Dynasty Warriors since the third game. What I generally tell everyone is if you've never played it, go rent it. You might really like it. You might find it eternally meh. I understand anyone's reaction, as it is a pretty niche game. Still, it can't hurt to at least try it out.
From my experience however... If you actually gave Dynasty Warriors a chance, and never liked it, Hyrule Warriors won't sway that for you. But I would definitely play a proper game if you haven't to get a gauge for whether or not you'll like this next one.
