Monday!! Monday!! Monday!!

Long entertaining weekends make Monday all that much more painful. It is still early in the morning so I have no evidence to support that claim per say. It is entirely possible much like an over used fat orange cat I just Loathe Mondays. Given the antics of last week maybe it is time to start loving them. Something to ponder anyway.

So for those of you who read here normally or pay attention to face book I was offline most of the weekend. Every year at this time there is an big sale and trade show in my home town that I attend. It gives me the opportunity to catch up with old friends and get to relax a little bit. It is always an interesting time as it is one of a few times a year where my nerd side doesn’t even fit in a little. So I shut him down for a few days and go play cowboy. I say go play, but in reality I make my living as a ranch hand. Which is what allows me to be here and annoy you all with these fine posts and the podcast. I would submit that it is not a life style for everyone. The two worlds don’t cross over much as I am sure your aware.

I picked up a game off steam last night. Fun little game so far and has great humor in the writing. It contains one feature though, that I find hideous in this era of video games. During the game you play through chapters and go through check points. Now if you die that sends you back to a check point. However if you decide to quit midway through the chapter you are screwed. The only save points are at the end of each chapter in case it wasn’t clear. That to me is one of the most obnoxious facets of video games and it’s just lazy on the developers part. It is 2011 can we please stop with this bull shit. Give me the option to save it where I want and do your silly little auto saves too. I don’t care if other people save at bad times and your trying to prevent that, I really don’t. Give me the power to save, you lazy wankers.

Learned a little more about the sport of vaulting over the weekend. If your not aware, that is the art of doing gymnastics on the back of a horse. Kind of a undefined explanation, but close enough for my purposes. All I know is I have a lot of respect for the people who do it. See in my world being inverted while on horse back is a bad thing. Plus even if I was eighteen and in shape, I am pretty sure I couldn’t do it. Really need to make time to go and see a vaulting competition after what I learned. Makes riding broncs seem silly to a certain extent. Hit up you tube if your curious, I am sure there are videos of it running around. Scratch that, here have a video.

Vaulting looks pretty cool and very difficult. Gymnastics is hard enough I am sure, now go do it on a friggen horse?

After watching this I only had one vision come to mind. These girls on the back of a bucking bronco at the calgary Stampeede and watching what happens . lol

Ha I think that would be come more of a human cannon ball act then. Given what I know about riding broncs, vaulting is more difficult to a certain extent. With bronc riding its about timing and staying centered. There isn't near as much side to side movement involved. Although I bet any of these vaulters could become actual bronc riders without any trouble.
