Yesterday at work I believe solved the problem of do nothing career politicians in American government. The process is simple instead these silly elections we just make it like jury duty. That’s right select people at random to go run the country for say ten days. We would only pay them a small fee so it is less attractive then their normal job. Everybody would hate going, so work would get done. No more partisan bickering and pandering to the public to get reelected. Could you imagine that it would be hilarious and productive.
Bill: Hey Fred you look a little down whats the matter?
Fred: I just got a notice in the mail. I have to go serve in the senate next month.
Bill: Damn that sucks, that is a good month at work for you.
Fred Tell me about it, but what are you going to do. The budget needs to get passed.
I say we implement this idea immediately. Within five years I bet most of our current problems would be gone. You can trust me on that.
I see no good reason to ever discuss politics on this site beyond outlandish solutions to unsolvable problems. It has never done me any good to write on that subject. In fact due to my personal beliefs it tends to get me in trouble with followers of both major parties. Same goes for religion, the hypocrisy flying around from certain brands of religions these days is amusing. Yet dare point out how foolish they are being and see what happens to you. Fun times to be sure, I will post a little more on my dislike of these topics later on.
The Wonderpod mob was up to it’s old tricks last night in Halo. I play with a good bunch of players of that you can be sure. Now when I say good players, I mean the total package, not just asshole’s worried about there kill/death ratio. Well, we did have one of those faux elite players with us and I really need stop paying any attention to the clown. I let his selfish trolling antics get under my skin and that is bad form on my part. I have played long enough to know better than that. Sadly it’s like having a nightly random, who’s name you actually know. Even with bozo the clown on board we had a lot of fun and will be bringing you something halo related in the near future.
Tonight is the BCS title game between the Oregon ducks and the Auburn Tigers. The game should be really good, but I can’t decide who to root for. I live on the west coast, only a few hours from Oregon and generally root for any of the Pac-10 schools that make it to this game. On the other hand I worked for the University of Auburn for almost two years. I think I am going to go War Eagle on this one. Still it will be cool to see either team win. Let’s all hope it isn’t a blow out.
Some time in the next week or two I will be unleashing a little fiction in your face. The first story is a twisted little tale I wrote back in the fall and finished this winter. I have no good explanation as to why, but a lot of my fiction work is pretty twisted. I can say, it’s always more fun to let your mind just wander to the dark side and see what it drags back. Writing straight laced or feel good stories has never been my cup of tea I suppose.
Because the angry cow’s intentions are clear
That's an interesting approach to the current democratic system in the US. We're not a far cry from that model in Canada, and it makes me think quite a bit about how that might work. Would this approach apply to all three levels of US government? It might, but there are SO many factors to consider. On the same token, I am all for democratic reforms as a stagnant system that doesn't adapt is one that is destined to fail (or so I feel).
