Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Reveal Trailer looks promising.

Take a look at the first gameplay footage for CODMW3 in this reveal trailer. I for one am both cautious and yet optimistic about this upcoming title. With the history behind it , Respawn Studios leaving the project, 3 developers taking over to finish the job, and what appears to be a new game engine there is a lot to be uncertain of. However , after watching the trailer,  I am optimistic that the game will turn out to be very good and most importantly very fun. Only time will tell if BF3 or MW3 will be the better game later this year. But one thing is for certain by the looks of this latest trailer.  Gamer such as myself  might end up spoiled and enjoying both titles in the future. What do you guys/ Gals think of the reveal trailer?

Is the Wii going stale? Wii Play Motion Trailer shows “more of the same”.

Another Nintendo Wii  trailer for yet another Nintendo Wii Mini-Game fest ,staring your cute little Miis in all sorts of fun situations. Sound familiar?  It should. While I DO still really enjoy playing Wii Sports with my family, friends and very bouncy wife ,that was some time ago. I understand fully that there are millions of casual soccer mom gamers and old folks home Alzheimer’s patients who still love to play with the motion controled Wii in the exact same fashion they did 4 years ago with games that look ever bit the same as they did at the systems launch, however, I cant  help but to want more out of my Wii. I think that is why I am looking forward to the e3 announcement of  another console from the Big N coming soon. I respect all the causal gamers out there that keep on wanting more of the exact same thing from Nintendo, hell I still play some Wii Sports from time to time myself and if it aint broke don’t fix it I suppose. However, personally for the Patman, this latest trailer is exactly a sign to me that e3 cant come any sooner.

Dead Island: Game Play Walkthrough

I found a new trailer for the game Dead Island. I am thinking this will be far more enjoyable than my normal morning routine. Plus what I had written for this morning sucked. I am talking blows goats levels of sucked.  Okay so maybe that is a normal thing, but I saw this over at gametrailers and figured it would get raise some eyebrows. I will be interested to see what you guys think after watching this.  Most comprehensive trailer yet for the game.

Swamp Thing and how 80’s comics redefined a genre.

Or how Alan Moore saved this kid from abandoning comics senior year. The year was 2002, 2nd semester, a young impressionable young man was finally calling it quits on Super-hero comics. WHY? you ask. Because after years of sitting around watching as the assorted heroes would rehash the same tired battles, have earth shattering moments only to be rewritten once the creative team changed and come to an end to only be brought back a month later with a new spangled #1 issue. I had enough. The stories I would recount to my friends about my God-cousin Chris Britton handing me his copies of 80’s X-men, later followed by Sergio Aragones, Groo. Or how it was first peaked when my cousin Damiean passed over an issue of Wizard Magazine featuring Storm,Jean Grey,Jubilee and Rogue. He even allowed me to read the classic Batman comic “Death in the Family”. You can easily say I was hooked. I began browsing through comic bins at local establishments, Reality Adventures, Retail stores Hy-Vee, Eagles,K-mart and soon the mecca of comic exploring Tim’s Corner. Read more »

PatMan Plays: Outland. Initial Impressions.

What is going on people? A few days ago on Wonderpod Video Game Podcast ep. 64, I discussed playing a little XBLA title by the name of Outland. I encouraged everyone to, at the very least ,download the demo on either the PSN or XBLA. If your into classic side scrolling 2D platform games of the past Outland may be just the ticket for you. Its a very artistic looking game where you control the powers of light and dark while attempting to  successfully platform and attack all sorts of evil creatures which get in your way of restoring an ancient balance. While I attempted to describe the title on the show this week  I think that maybe all you need to really do is play the demo and see for yourself. Its not for those that dislike side scrolling and vertical scrolling 2D platform games, however there is enough action to satisfy action gamers as well. While I am very early into the game I must say that for its low price of 10 dollars the production value is very high in this title and its well worth the 800 points. Outland also has both local and online co-op modes which could prove fun with the right partner, which means unfortunately and of course , playing on XBL with randoms could turn out to be a  frustrating mess. As I mentioned I am early into the game and my initial impressions are very positive as of now. I will talk more about Outland on an upcoming episode of Wonderpod soon. For now, check out some screens I took of the game in action today playing single player. While I don’t have a  fancy screen capture device you will still see the art style of this cool downloadable title well enough. The very pretty screens are located below, after the break.

Play PSP “Remasters” On Your PS3, Starting In Japan. First Footage!

Playstation 3 owners have something to be excited about if they are interested in playing upgraded versions of PSP games.  Sony has issued a press release that has announced “PSP Remasters,” coming soon to Japan. But don’t take my word for it,  here is some of the press release, straight from Sony themselves.    ” PSP Remaster titles will deliver rich and immersive gaming experience on the PS3 system through stunning high-definition graphics as well as through additional new features for these titles, such as operability on the PS3 Wireless Controller (SIXAXIS® and DUALSHOCK®3), new add-on content or stereoscopic 3D support*1. Users will also be able to utilize the same save data from the original PSP game for the “PSP Remaster” version and enjoy the game on the go with the PSP system and continue the game at home on a large TV screen using PS3. Ad-hoc mode gameplay will also be supported through “adhoc party for PlayStation Portable” application on the PS3 system*2.”

With this new ” Remasters” announcement, more people will now have the opportunity to play some of the often overlooked PSP games. Sounds like a cool idea to me and a way for people who don’t own a PSP to enjoy some of these titles. Take a look a the first ” Remastered” PSP game in action right here below !

More Minecraft to Come

Hey everyone it’s been a while.  Finals really took a lot out of me this semester and I think I’ve finally been able to “recuperate.”  Anyway you probably heard on the podcast that Bruce finally got around to setting up a Minecraft server, the world that we’re in is fairly interesting with practically miles of cave systems.  It’s rather impressive.  I would like to extend his invitation again to anyone that would like to join up on the server.  As long as you’re not an idiot which I assume you wonderful people aren’t, come and mine with us!  Just leave a message on the Wonderpod Facebook and we’ll get back to you.  And for those of you that don’t necessarily want to play but are still interested, don’t worry, I’ve been taking a lot of screenshots in the past few days and hope to put together a nice photo album soon with maybe even a video.  Bruce had the server off this afternoon so I decided to get out the charcoal and finally draw something…but of course it had to be Minecraft related.  Hope to play with you soon!

“Macho Man” Randy Savage Will Be Missed. May 20, 2011.

In a tragic turn of events, Randy Poffo died as a result of what is reported as a heart attack while driving a car. The injuries sustained in a subsequent crash cost the former champion and beloved “Macho Man” Randy Savage his life. He was 58 years old. Wonderpod Episode 64

Due to the possibility that the world ends tomorrow this could be the final Wonderpod. More than likely we will be here next week, Unless Jesus takes the internet with him, and then we are probably screwed. The show would have been up sooner, but I hated the banner I made late last night. This is one of our best shows yet or at least the most comical.

iMPACT Wrestling: 05/19/11

Last Sunday’s PPV, Sacrifice, merited little results of significance… except that Chyna might be back for more and Brayden Walker stole Matt Hardy’s fat gimmick. You can read more about the PPV at Pintnoir’s recap here. Pretty good review!

However, this week on the newly branded “iMPACT Wrestling,” where apparently wrestling matters, we will be treated to a new look iMPACT zone. As a result, the former TNA has made an effort to make the place look snazzy and showcase the change. Sure, this should have been done for the PPV, but realistically their buyrates have been so poor as of late, I’d imagine they didn’t bat an eyelash at the concept of rebranding the building in time.
