BoredWrestlingFan Radio Episode 81 – Matt Borne Tribute

Texas Wrestling Hall of Fame founder David Fuller and inductees James Beard and Black Bart join us via the phone lines to pay tribute to their fallen friend, “Maniac” Matt Borne.  Doc Knight of Original Stampede Wrestling drops in to say a few words as well.  The BWF Radio crew sit quietly at the learning tree as these legends of professional wrestling talk about the business and share Matt Borne stories.  Joe gives a recap of Traditional Championship Wrestling’s television show, Jorge gushes over the imminent arrival of the Wyatt Family, and the crew give a rare rave review to this week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling.  In the news, find out who no longer is employed by TNA, hear why Daniel Bryan didn’t get in any trouble over yelling at Triple H, and why the Blackhawks may have gotten CM Punk in a bit of trouble with WWE management.  Plus, an update on the ROH World Title situation.  All this and much more on this week’s episode of BoredWrestlingFan Radio!  Tune in!

Wonderpod Episode 165

Now it’s time for a proper episode of Wonderpod. Not entirely sure what a proper Wonderpod is, but we made one anyway. Show goes on and off the rails like locomotive minus the tracks. The show kind of got hung on one topic and then wandered everywhere. So same crap different week basically.

Smackdown 07/05/13

Well, after two odd weeks of Smackdown reviews due to watching my city flood and then attempting a mad scramble to secure a place to live amidst a throng of displaced Calgarians attempting to do the same, I guess I’m back. Am I better than ever? Not if my name is Eric and I help run Impact. But this is not Impact. This is fucking Smackdown.

That’s right…

BoredWrestlingFan Radio Episode 80

Today on BWF Radio, Jorge returns!  Joe, G, and JT discuss the current state of “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” on their mobile devices, and try to come up with good ideas for the WWE2K14 cover art contest.  We mourn the passing of the late, great Matt Borne, a former BWF Radio guest in his own right.  We recap RAW, muse over Main Event, invoke Impact, and speak on SmackDown.  Speculation starts as to why Matt Striker was unable to do the interview with us this past week.  We get the latest on Taz’s contract situation, find out about Jack Swagger’s fines, and learn who has been the mastermind behind signing top indy stars to WWE.  We learn that there is a book coming out that will have some interesting stories about John Cena – and no, it’s not written by his ex-wife.  Speaking of wives, find out which two WWE Superstars were married this past week.  All this, and the NHL Draft, on BoredWrestlingFan Radio!

Wonderpod Episode 164

This week on Wonderpod. We cover two general topics and neither of them are video games. The entire cast enjoyed a change of venue so to speak. I am sure the video game industry will suck us back in sooner or later. Until then its going to be a little bit of everything.

While living in Boston for the summer I had the opportunity last weekend to visit Walden Pond. Walden Pond is about 25 miles outside of Boston on the outskirts of Concord, Massachusetts. The pond is most well known for being a historically important location for American literature. In the mid 1800’s, writer Henry David Thoreau lived for 2 years in a small cabin on the edge of the pond with minimal contact with the outside world. While being isolated he wrote his famous book, “On Walden Pond,” describing his time there, and also developed Transcendentalism, a school of thought that encouraged the importance of immersing yourself in the natural world as opposed to the hectic and cluttered hustle and bustle of city life created by the Industrial Revolution. Self-reliance was key.

PatMan Plays Infinity Blade 2. Under $1, For The Rest Of June.

The original Infinity Blade was , for its time , the most impressive iPhone game ever made. With visuals on par with consoles yet game play specifically crafted for short bursts of handheld gaming, it was and still is a great iOS title. Then came it’s sequel, Infinity Blade 2, with even more impressive graphics and slight updates to the original game play mechanics.  For some reason, I haven’t bothered playing the sequel until yesterday. That is when it dropped in price for under a dollar. Then, I just have to give it a spin. I suggest any iPhone user with a dollar on their iTunes account pick this one up before it goes back up in price in July. As usual, I’ve taken in game screenshots which you can view below.

BoredWrestlingFan Radio Episode 79

Ah, No Mercy…

We started late.  We ended early.  That can only mean one thing – Jorge wasn’t here.  G tries to avoid drowning in the flooded mess that is Calgary and JT’s personalities fight each other while Joe laments the drowning of his phone in his swimming pool yesterday.  That Damn Double C gives us some good listening material in the form of a Sexual Harassment Education video.  Mick Foley appears on The Daily Show.  RAW wows us, even if Christian underwhelms Joe.  Main Event is main-eventy, and SmackDown gets the depressed G treatment.

In the news, we get reactions to Rob Van Dam’s WWE return at Money In The Bank.  We assess Sheamus’ ability to make metaphors.  We ponder what Matt Hardy’s latest internet video means (besides a half-naked Reby Sky), and we find out how much money Jack Swagger will lose in fines over his recent marijuana arrest.  Where have we heard Triple H and The Undertaker’s theme songs lately?  We get HBK’s thoughts on the potential to revive tag team wrestling (courtesy of Ministry of Slam).  All this, plus Iron Sheik Tweets and the all new segment, “Stump JT.”
