Smackdown 06/21/13

Whelp, this will be a little different than normal. I’m whipping through Smackdown since Calgary will be going through rolling power outages tonight (or so the police scanner says), to deal with the massive flooding in this city. And let’s be honest here, there is no way Smackdown is topping either Payback or RAW which were both solid shows. Fortunately I prepared a little something something ahead of time this week, and some gifs so it feels kind of normal. But in all seriousness, I kind of need to watch the news to see what the fuck is going on in my hometown and how it affects me. Sorry.

Sloshing time!

Wonderpod Epsiode 163

This week on Wonderpod. We had intended to not touch video games for at least this weeks episode. This years E3 left us with a bad tasted in our mouth. So talking about something else was the best plan. Then Microsoft had to go and make announcements. Threw a wrench in the plan to say the least. Oh well maybe next week.

PatMan Picks Some Of His Favorite Games At E3.

Another E3 has come and gone , and this one was particularly interesting as new consoles were announced. The PS4 looks very strong with a great emphasis on gamers and games.  Microsoft and the Xbox One console is equally impressive, and has the extra features that only Kinect 2.0  can deliver.  However MS dug themselves into a public relations hole that is growing exponentially and Sony took complete advantage of this, while  the sad lemmings on forums, Reddit and Youtube overreacted with even more ridiculousness than usual.  I didn’t get to pay as much attention to E3 this year as I have in other years because, well, you know, real life.  I’m sure I missed out on some great things from the big 3 companies, but here’s my personal list in no particular order of some of the games that I’m very excited about. Video games are about experiencing and enjoying something you LIKE , something you want and something that’s going to be fun for you . Video games are not about bitching like a little baby all over the Internet, overreacting  because that’s what all the other lemmings on Facebook are doing, and crying over something  that you wont buy in the future anyways. You will see no PS4 games on my list as I am a Nintendo/ MS fan. But make no mistake, unlike a fanboy, I do see a lot of great things coming from Sony and without a doubt they won this years E3. Now, on to my personal list of games that I am excited about. Read more »

Wonderpod Episode 162(E3)

This week on Wonderpod. We gathered around Skype in accordance with the podcasting rituals and talked E3. It could have been a podcast entirely on Animal Crossing New Leaf. It would been so easy to just let the crew take the reins and run with it. We maintained our composure and slogged through the E3 news, insanity and of course games.

Patman Picks Most Anticipated E3 Games This Year. The “Triple R” Developers.

E3 is right around the corner and to say that gamers are excited , hell to say that I’m excited , is an understatement. This is an absolutely huge E3 as we will be seeing Next GEN games for the first time on PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. We will also be seeing at E3, hopefully, the games that will “save” the Nintendo WiiU from absolute obscurity, or so I hope.  Naturally, gamers are  getting VERY excited . We want to see the classics like Halo, Mario Kart , Fable , and the new Call of Duty.  And while I have to admit I’m excited about these games , I’m even more excited about what is coming from what I will call the “Triple R ” developers: Retro , Respawn and Rare.
