iMPACT Wrestling- Road to Destination X

After the recap, we jump right into Bully Ray shilling his new twitter account, @Realbully5150. He calls out Joseph Park and accepts his challenge for next week’s impact. All this will be a Anything Goes match except that Ray has a restraining order against Abyss who if he even shows up will be sent to rot in prison. Park is dumbfounded until he’s cheap shoted.

A Double and “H Double” discuss Aries giving up the belt at the end of the night. Which leads us right into a Destination X promo, which is embedded above.

A Double and “H Double” discuss Aries giving up the belt at the end of the night. Which leads us right into a Destination X promo, which is embedded above.

Jason Hervey (Wonder Years for those in the know) attempts to interview Dixie Carter who is more than happy to talk about the New X-Division talent but not eager to talk about Claire Lynch. Talking of that new prospective X-Division talent err.. oh wait

Devon vs Crimson for the Television Title gets under way. I had almost forgot with the BFG series under way Devon had been missing for a little bit. I thought maybe we might see a title change to Crimson now that his undefeated streak was over but a short five minute bout ends in a spine-buster and the win for Devon. Then it devolves into slapstick as Madison Rayne comes out to face Devon but brushes past him and goes right for Earl Hebner to slip him some tongue in the corner.

Old man still got skills

Chris Sabin is in the ring after on crutches talking about his wrestling career and how family and the doctors are telling him to hang it up. Just as he gets ready to let the flood gates loose Bobby Roode’s music hits and the world champ comes down. After dissing the efforts of Sabin and Sorenson he kicks the crutch out from under Sabin prompting Aries to come out for the save. Good segment Roode in Classic Heel mode.

Now on to the X division Qualifier match, Dakota Darsow back for the second time (he was a participant during last years match ups for Destination X) takes on Flip Casanova. sub-par match up which shows that Darsow who bled by matches end is still not ready no matter who his daddy is. Flip still needs some polishing possibly in OVW but not as fluid as Sonjay Dutt. Not really exciting.

Then we move on to the Knockouts who due to Gail Kim’s lawyer is able to hold off facing Tessmacher one on one till next week but instead gets a tag match against Tessmacher and Tara with her cohort in crime Madison “Heart Hebner” Rayne. Decent match with Madison eating the (Double Finish) and getting pinned by the champion.

Jeff Hardy/James Storm promo talking up both competitors. Real classy.

AJ Styles comes down to bash the charges against him rebuffing Claire lynch’s baby’s paternity. Daniels and Kaz come out to stir the pot. Styles says that this whole mess dates back to last years Destination X when AJ beat Daniels and Chris being a sore loser. (Good reference to history)

Hogan is backstage with the Hervey being interviewed when a messenger dressed as a biker delivers a message. Claiming they’re not cowards. Hogan open the manila folder to reveal a piece of paper with the Dead Man’s Hand with the message “see you next week”. We have our next qualifying match this time we have ROH’s own Kenny King!#$ to take on Lars Only? This match was better because King was in it. He owned the crowd and put on a show. Lars attempted some things before botching a stunner leg sweep combination?? But King comes back and hits “Easy Money’ for the win. This was good match and I only hope that he comes into TNA because he is more than ready to be the next X division title holder.

Good for the Soul

Austin Aries has a run in/reunion with Kenny King were the Greatest Man alive congratulates him. Right before Hervey asks whether Aries will be truly giving up the title later tonight which Aries sarcastically says “yes.”

Jeff Hardy (7) vs James Storm (35) obviously Hardy needs the win more than Storm and backstage agrees by letting him pick up the victory when he ducks a last call and hits the twist of fate. Hardy is now tied with Magnus in third place.

The rest of the program was filled with the Destination X PPV card which includes the Qualifying match, Ultimate X , Samoa Joe vs Angle BFG series, AJ vs Daniels Last Man Standing match and the World Title match Roode vs Aries. Also they talk up next weeks match-ups that include: Angle vs Anderson, Gail vs Tessmacher and Bully Ray vs Joseph Park in an Anything Goes Match.

Bound For Glory 2012 will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, October 14th.

Hogan comes out and calls out Aries but instead gets Roode. Roode gets in Hogan’s grill talking trash until Aries steps down. Aries has an option C for that moment which would include fighting Roode right there and now. Roode backs down but attempts a cheap shot but misses only to be hit with the X division title. Aries holds up both belts before handing over the X division belt to Hogan to close out the show.

PatMan Picks : Free iPhone games. Angry Birds Seasons

It is Friday afternoon and that means only one thing, the weekend is HERE. So, if your looking for some absolutely free and fun iPhone gaming this hot summer season weekend look no further. Speaking of seasons, Angry Birds Seasons is up for free for the next little while and it just had to be my free pick for today. We all know and love the Angry Birds phenomenon, so why not download this title right now? I have  to say that seasons offers more of a challenge than the original game. But it is that challenge that makes it enjoyable. I am no Angry Birds expert and it shows while playing Seasons, but I am enjoying the different birds and their abilities. As usual, I took a few screens for you to take a look at below. See you next time when I pick another free iPhone video game deal!

Wonderpod Episode 117

Wonderpod is all new and the band is back together. In other words Glasenator is back and all is well. This week we cover mostly questions and topics. Basically catching up after last weeks Mass Effect marathon spoilerfest. On that front this episode is spoiler free as far as I can tell. I should know I was there. Enjoy the show and have a great weekend.

PatMan Picks : Free iPhone games. The End

Welcome back to another PatMan picks free iPhone games. Once again I have an app that’s defiantly worth looking into, and also once again, it will cost you absolutely nothing to download if you quick enough.  My pick for today is a brand new game by the name of  ” The End ” .  The game takes place in what looks to be what is left of an american city after some sort of massive disaster. You run like hell and avoid obstacles using the gyroscopic controls while using the touch pad to move left or right, jump up or slide down. Pretty simple game play here, but it gets addicting and hectic in a hurry. Plus, it has some humor to it as well. The End is a good game to boot up when your in line with nothing to do or maybe you  just want to kill 10 mins of time. There are challenges to partake in and also a free run mode where you just keep going until you die. I realize the game just came out today, and yes its free, however it is frustrating that the games Facebook app is not working currently because it is required in one of the challenges to post your best score on Facebook or Twitter. Only by doing this can you move on to the next set of challenges. I am stuck and have to play the free run mode until they fix the bug I guess.  Aside from that, the game looks and sounds pretty good and it controls decently so check it out before you have to pay for it.  I took few screen shots of The End in action, so go check them out below . See you right here at Wpod for my next free iPhone pick!

Risen 2 – Dark Waters

General Overview

Is it a pirate’s life for ye? If so, ye needn’t look much further than this one. Sure, it’s got graphical glitches, the controls could be better, the voice acting is just okay, the animations are wonky at best, and the game gets borderline offensive with some stuff, but that aside it’s easily one of the best, if not THE best, pirate game ever made.

Nights Into Dreams

I happen to see this link being thrown around on twitter. For all you Sega fans this should get your interest. As many of you know I did not grow up on a console. So this game has no nostalgic pull for me. I am aware of the Nights character from playing Sonic All Star Racing, but that is about it. That said, I like what I am seeing in this announce trailer and will check it out when the time comes. All you Sega fans are you excited for this or will it be a miss in your book?

Smackdown 07/03/12: Great American Bash, Playah!Smackdown 07/03/12: Great American Bash, Playah!Smackdown 07/03/12: Great American Bash, Playah!

It’s Tuesday, you know what that means. Wait, it’s Tuesday? What in the blue hell? I’m not even supposed to be working here today! Great American Bash? More like Holla, Holla, Playah, Holla! It’s Teddy Long time, folks. So let’s just make our way down to the ring, shall we? No hopping to it this time.

Fortunately I got to watch this with my fellow smark “Kasan” on the Stickam account “Threewaydance”. While I generally am at work when it’s live, if you want fellow wrestling fans to break down the action with live, I highly recommend checking them out.

PatMan Picks : Free iPhone games. Clash Force

I am back again with another free iPhone pick. This time I am picking a fun little game with a great NES retro feel to it by the name of Clash Force. I can tell that the developers of this game went to great effort to replicate an NES video game experience right here on my iPhone, and for the most part,  they did a very good job of it. The game looks, sounds and feels like it could have been played on the good old NES. So if your looking for a new and free iOS game with some retro feel to it, check out Clash Force before it is no longer free. A word to the wise, the game not only looks and sounds like an NES title, it plays like one as well. Be prepared to die often, especially if your playing on the non easy difficulty level. Check out a few screens I took of the game and I will see you next time for yet another FREE iPhone game worth downloading.

Emulation Arcade – Avengers

Avengers is a fun, straightforward action brawler that involves you advancing toward a seemingly endless barrage of enemies, punching and kicking your way to justice. Yes, this sounds like Final Fight, but there are a number of twists. Firstly, it’s overhead and has a look and feel similar to that of Commando, but with you going through ghettos and all kinds of weird areas instead of the desert.
