Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer

I have called this the one MMO PatMan can’t resist. I still think that is true and I know it’s true in my case. So I bring to you a nice little video courtesy of the folks at gametrailers. This video shows you the character progression of the trooper class. Again this guys sounds right up PatMan’s alley. He will not be able to resist the call of the Star Wars. Now I just need a new PC to run the bloody thing.

Im not 100 % sold on this game, but if there is a Demo I will play it and see.I love me my star wars and video games.

I doubt there will be a demo, but what you can bank on is a free ten day trial some time after the game has been released. I trust Bioware and the trailers I have seen thus far give me no cause for concern.

It's a shame it's PC only. Oh well, there's more than enough titles on the consoles I never get to play… I was hoping someone would finally bridge the gap between consoles and PCs.

I am not sure how well an MMO for consoles would work. I sure as hell wouldn't want to run my 360 through some of my longest WOW sessions. My hope is the game will run on lower end machines with minimum settings. Sure it's not great, but it gives you the chance to play. I know that my old box with a crappy video card would run WOW at good frame rates with no tearing or slow down. If Bioware is smart they won't try for Crysis like graphics lol.

MS gave up on the idea of a MMO for the 360 after a decent amount of time developing "Halo MMO". So even with that big of a franchise name they pulled the plug on it. There must be some sort of "Middle Ground" between a true MMO on PC and online multiplayer on Consoles . Maybe that often rumored " COD" project or the next big thing from Bungie will bridge the gap.

I could see there being some kind of meeting in the middle perhaps. I would have to feel more confident about the hardware to get behind it fully. Let's be honest the 360 is a console one thinks of when it comes to endurance. Given that consoles have more market share, making an MMO for them would be a wise move. All that said I am PC old school to my core, so I would rather play them on PC. Time will tell
