The story is rather simple, and short. Rick McAlister sadly lost his arm in a workplace accident. He just likes to play pool. He wanted to mod his prosthetic arm to allow him to enjoy his billiards hobby…
This made me think about people who go to third party tech’s to fix things. This is something I can relate to. I, fortunately, do not require a prosthetic of any kind at this time. But it brings up the issue of assholes who will take advantage of loopholes in warranties and screw people over. Mr. McAlister’s so-called friend is now suspected to be attempting to sell the medical device (valued $6,000 CS/USD) online.
I’ve paraphrased enough from the source, read more here:
Source: Calgary man literally lends a hand – now he wants it back
I guess “friends” is a poor choice of a description of their relationship?
Now, that’s a gamer dick…
The sad thing is, that all I can think of is this:
Backyard medical upgrades are likely a poor idea.
LOL astar FTW! At least its the original commercial and not that CGI one they made as an update.
I can't decide whether to comment on the poor bugger who lost his arm or the PSA. I think my brain just exploded.
As a kid I fucking loved that PSA.
