Today is a pretty lucky day for many of us X-box 360 shooter fans. It is the day that not one but two big name shooters for 2011 are releasing an online demo for us to potentially become addicted with. Call me crazy, but its almost too much of a good thing, in my opinion
In all honesty, I am interested in both of these gorgeous looking titles, and I am willing to bet so are most of the X-box live gold community. While some may have their favorites, preferring the sequel to the PC hit Crysis over the untested Bulletstorm, or perhaps wanting something new and crazy from Epic over a PC franchise sequel from Crytek, the truth is both demos may very well end up sinking a LOT our time in front of our TV. Yet , unless your unemployed, live in your mothers basement and are totally unaware of the outside world that escapees you, there may just not be enough time today to really sink a lot of gameplay into both demos.
So I ask, what will YOU be downloading first? Will you play both games just a little bit to see or will you pick one and concentrate on the other later? As I said ealier, I believe thats its “too much of a good thing”, I would have prefered one of these demos to come out this week, followed by the other next week, then I could have had enough time with both to judge if they are worthy of a purchase when the time comes. I know I am in the minority here, the ” GIVE IT TO ME NOW I CANT WAIT” mentality of many of our youth is unquestioned, but I really think that this is a case of too much of a good thing. Even if they are just demos and not the full retail game.
Here are the 2 trailers for the demos, in case you have not seen them yet. Enjoy what ever you decide to play the most today, I am more interested in Crysis 2, to be honest. But it might just come down to how many of our fellow wonderpod listeners and staff are willing to play what demo later tonight and tomorrow as the deciding factor, for me.
Will you be killing noobs here…
Or here….
I know Bruce wants to try out Bulletstorm…but I'm leaning towards Crysis personally.
I played 2 games of Crysis2, my initial impressions are COD meets Halo. The moving around and shooting is somewhat more like COD, however the armor abilities, such as strength and invisibility are like Halo. I like it but its not showing me anything special or different, but its good so far. I think all shooters have really become the same as of late, to be honest. I willcheck out Bullet storm maybe tonight, or Crysis with you guys if your around.
I am undecided on Crysis at this point. I don't need another COD/Halo smashed together clone to a point. The only game I know I am getting right now is HomeFront. I can't make up my mind whether to make the other one bullet storm or Crysis.
I will play some rounds of Crysis soon and make my choice. I played bullet storm demo this morning and it is short, but has my interest. If I had to guess I may skip Crysis all together and get Bullet Storm for the single player at least. Although I got a very Gears feeling from the characters which isn't a bad thing.
