PatMan Picks- Stampede Wrestling Classics.Part 2

Welcome to the second Stampede Wrestling inspired edition of PatMan Picks. This time around Im going with a match that is both unique and special in the history of pro wrestling for 2 reasons. Why do I call it unique, you may ask? Well, for starters its a WWF title match taking place in Calgary, in a Stampede Wrestling ring featuring one of Stampedes most popular wrestlers. Thats pretty unique. Also its the celebration of Stu Harts 80 Birthday, and as a consequence, wrestlers from around the world came to the event to both preform and also wish the legend a Happy 80th. This time around we will be enjoying Razor( Scott Hall) VS owen Hart, for the intercontinental WWF championship. Worth noting this time around is the beginning of the video where Owen has a quick  segment talking about his father, which is a very nice touch. Owen was playing the role of a heel at the time, but when in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, its pretty hard to have the crowd hate any Stampede Wrestler as Vince McMahon would soon learn and capatialze on in the future with his Hart Foundation story-line. Also worth noting while watching the video is the top ring rope coming off and being quickly turned into a weapon. You will then notice a quick exit from the ring to draw the attention away from the rope being put back on. Finally worth noting is the “run in” by one of my least favorite wrestlers of all time, the 1-2-3, ” I made a porn Movie with a Man/Woman and lived to tell about it”, Kid.  Also, if  these videos are getting your old school classic wrestling interests up, feel free to download audio master G and myself as we discuss all things Stampede wrestling, right here at wPo !        https://wonderpodonline.com/?p=2533

Darksiders 2 Trailer Has PatMan Looking Forward To…Death?

Those of you that have listened to Wonderpod Video game podcast year end special last year will remember that I mentioned Darksiders as one of my top games for the entire year. And rightfully so in my opinion. The original combined dungeons and puzzle solving levels in the likes of Zelda along with the combat , button smashing and real time  events of  modern brawlers. It was a sleeper hit that many reviewers  gave very high review scores for that I totally agree with. I personally loved  both the art style and characters in the game. It never got the attention that I believed it deserved, but that may change as the official sequel has now been both announced and a trailer for it is now all over the web. The game takes place at the same time that the original game occurred, only form the perspective of one of the other 4 Horsemen, namely death. In a way this is disappointing because the final moments of the original Darksiders game hinted at  a 4 player co-op sequel, but that might come along some time in the future.  With THQ doing nothing but the publishing for this title and the last games quality being high, I cant help but want to learn more. For now all we have to go by is the announcement trailer, and one excited PatMan waiting for it to come out!

Wonderpod Episode 66

It is time for a new episode of Wonderpod. This weeks show wanders all over the place and we may lose the rails once or twice. The sound board was rocking and we even found some time to talk about an upcoming expo. The only way to know for sure is to listen and enjoy.

Duke Nukem Launch Trailer. Enough Foreplay, Come Get Some !

It looks like the impossible is about to actually happen, thats right Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold and is ready to be shipped globally very soon.  It truly does feel like its been forever since this games original first mentioning, what, 12 or 13 years ago. A lot has changed in gaming since then and the games engine was updated at least one time during the long process. The game looks to be classic Duke Nukem, which for many fans will be a good thing. I have to wonder, however, if the younger gamers will adopt this older style of FPS, especially in the online multiplayer modes? The trailer looks good enough for me to be highly interested and unless we get some very bad news from the gaming press in the next few days, I think i will have to pick this one up. I will be interested in the reviews for this title, and like Bruce has mentioned on Wonderpod Videogame Podcast, they probably well be all over the place, but as always I make my own decisions and don’t take review scores to heart. Its almost time to kick ass and chew bobble gum, and PatMan has been out of gum for over a decade baby!

Brawler of the Year – 1999

This is actually a surprisingly good year and what a year to end on. No, there weren’t that many titles, but what was released was pretty damn good. This was not an easy year to pick a #1 as a result. Read more »

Smurfs Episode 3

Always invest in a back up or second hard drive people. If I had not done that, there would be no more smurfs for you. Well no more of the old ones that I created prior to the birth of this site.  Speaking of that, I wonder how many of you will get what I was poking fun at in this episode.  Whether there will be new episodes remains to be seen, so enjoy the ones we got.

Being a lifer in the field of comics, is similar to any connoisseur of any particular hobby. Whether its video games or even Soap Operas when something familiar is changed it sets about moaning and complaining for all the fans involved.

HomeFronts Apologetic 3 Dollar DLC Is Too Little Too Late for PatMan

Looks like Homefront players, those that actually continued to play the game throughout all the lag, disconnections, unavailable network issues and lack of stable party play that is, have a nice 3 dollar “Fire Sale” Map pack coming their way. Thats a very good thing for gamers looking for a bargain in the DLC department. There are still some loyal followers of the game I am sure, even if they don’t make up a  significant percentage of XBL players  playing online every week, according to the stats Major Nelson gives out. For me 3 dollar DLC in a game that was equally as  frustrating online as it was fun is irrelevant . Its too little too late.  Even for 3 dollars, I wont be picking the map pack up. I refuse to support a company that has had so many issues with its online game. Maybe if I preferred to play online multiplayer  completely alone, like back in my Halo 2 days, some of the frustration with this title would have been taken away. But for me, personally, Homefront will always be remembered as the most broken online game, with the most total online issues happening together, lasting the longest amount of time that I have ever played.  And, because of that, I wont be downloading and supporting THQ with even 3 insignificant dollars of my money.

"Apology Accepted.... THQ".
