Break The Walls Down

Your introduction should give the read an idea of what your subject is about. Unless your name is Bruce McGee, then your introduction should be a bunch of random shit. This exception to the rule was created as no one has a clue what the fuck he is talking about anyway. In fact a group of English professors are trying to get him sent on a rocket straight in to the sun. Okay the coast is clear lets do this Monday thing.

WrestleMania X-Seven

Our Celebration of Professional Wrestling continues!

This weekend is very special for Professional Wrestling.  See, friends, we’re approaching a very special WrestleMania.  What makes this one so special, you ask?  Well, on its own merit, it’s a fantastically-booked card, one of the best WrestleManias, on paper, in YEARS.  A decade, in fact.  A decade since WrestleMania X-Seven, the closest rival WrestleMania III has had to date, for the crown of “Best WrestleMania of all time.”  A decade since WrestleMania X-Seven, the Last Hurrah of the Attitude Era, and the last great wrestling boom.

Discount Bin Review: Wrestlemania 25 (DVD)

Our Celebration of Professional Wrestling continues!

I always enjoy watching wrestling with a good, chatty crowd.  When I saw this Wrestlemania, the running commentary was pretty enjoyable. The show was a little less so; with the exception of a few matches the show felt a little “meh” – nothing downright terrible,  just not terribly exciting. Won’t go into a lot of detail on each match, just some thoughts on each.

BEISBOL

Hello, friend. You may be confused by the subject of this post- that’s alright. At Wonderpod, we’re here to help.

Do you like baseball? Absolutely, you do. In grand tradition, here is the best, most concise, expert predictions for how Churchy (that’s me) figures the season is gonna play out. None of the namby-pamby, 9352 paragraph crap here (which will, regrettably, be par for the course most other times with this author)- a couple of lines a team, and we’re done. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, that’s just too damn bad.

Nasty Undertaka

Since last Monday’s episode of RAW, I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out who Undertaker reminds me of now. He’s got that sort of new cocky/confident vibe going on now, bordering on a touch of heeldom.

The good news is, I’ve got it.

He’s the living embodiment of one of my favorite Merrie Melody villains, Nasty Canasta from the Drip Along Daffy short! Look at the face, the goatee, the hat… the eyeliner! IT’S ALL THERE!!!!!

Here’s a clip form the short – it’s Nasty Undertaka vs Triple D (Dripalong Daffy Duck)

PatMan Picks : Best Wrestling Video Game !

What is going on people?  With the Biggest weekend in wrestling upon us, I thought that I should give my thoughts on what game I consider to be my favorite Wrestling video game, of all time. I have to admit that I am not that big of a fan of the newer games and heck not that that big a fan of the newer wrestling product either, so its not going to be any of the new titles that have come out in the last decade. I was more of a wrestling fan and also a wrestling videogame fan back on my N64 and even before then .I do remember enjoying  nWo vs WCW on my N64  a lot but for me there is nothing like the classic NES Pro Wrestling game from way , way back. My brother bought the NES just before the SNES came out, so we were spoiled with choices of great NES titles, however one title that we kept returning to over and over was NES Pro wrestling. My favorite character was Star Man who, although dressed in pink and having a silly mask, was the coolest character of the bunch. My brother was fond of the amazon, an almost Blanka inspired character who had a very devastating bite attack  which I really disliked when I played against my brother as Star Man. So , naturally when I came across this youtube video it brought back very fond memories of playing this classic wrestling video game with my  big brother as kids. So, take a short time out from your WrestleMania weekend and enjoy a great wrestling video game that for its time, in my opinion, was far superior to anything that has come out since.  I hope that this video brings back some fond memories for some of you, as it did for me.
