B games are dead (again)

Ubisoft has always been known for making brash statements. Whether you agree or don’t agree, they get people talking. Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat has been the source for many of them. In fact by my calculations this is the third or fourth time he has talked about the end of B level games. The middle of the market as it were.

Graphics Are King (according to Crytek)

Here we go again with the graphics drive game play argument. This time from Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. I picked up this gem from gamesindustry. I suggest you give the article a quick glance before listening to me babble on about what he has to say.

BoredWrestlingFan Radio Episode 69

Big E, Big E, Big E, can’t you see, sometimes your fists accidentally hit me?

Fandangoing spills over into BWF Radio, as our own ThinkSoJoE was in the crowd at the IZOD Center this past Monday.  Joe, along with JT, G, and Jorge discuss the poor quality of this year’s WrestleMania, leading Joe to make an interesting offer to World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.  It’s explained why Mike Chioda got the first chant during the Sheamus/Orton match on RAW.  We ponder who was controlling the temperature on Thursday’s IMPACT, and do away with Sign Guy during the reading of G’s SmackDown review, for some reason.  Rick is still very much alive and well, as far as we know.  Iron Sheik tweets are handled by JT, and we find out why Rock, Brock, and Punk were all missing from RAW in the news.  Plus, for episode 69, That Damn Double C brings us some Bloodhound Gang in our musical break.   All this and MUCH more, on BWF Radio!

PatMan Picks Free iPhone Games. Fruit Ninja

Here is a great free iOS game for you to download this weekend. You may have heard of it, Fruit Ninja?  Of course you have heard of it, it is only one of the most popular iOS games of all time. If, for some reason, you have never picked up this classic and addicting game now is the time because until April 18th it will cost you absolutely nothing! See what you have been missing, or better yet download it on your iPad as that version along with the iPhone version is also free until April 18th. If you never played it before, where have you been? But anyways it is a game about, well cutting up as many fruit as you can and in as many combos as possible. Simple, fun and addictive. Now, go download it as you watch the iPad trailer below and I will see you all on the flip side!

Smackdown 04/12/13

On RAW, the crowd made the difference for the show to be a winner, ultimately, which I suspect and hope will remain a tradition as the so-called “hardcore” smarks stick around for it. Will that many of them stick around for Smackdown? I’d like to think so… but this “thing” is still a new “thing.” Only one way to find out, and you know what that means. Into the back of the closet and into Narnia, kiddo, we’re hunting wabbits. Hopping time! (a.k.a. Beer will make this better).

The customary hand wave after a goal is scored.

Ridge Racer Driftopia (trailer)

Last night on Wonderpod we dropped the news of a new Ridge Racer. I can hear people screaming it now, just like we did last night. Anyway I thought I would drop the reveal trailer for the newest game Driftopia. The game is slated to come out in late 2013. The game will be coming out on the PC and PS3. No word whether other platforms will be added. The title will be free to play with the standard micro transactions. This is just a short reveal trailer, hopefully will get more as time goes on. I fully intend to give this game a run when it releases. Let’s hope the folks at Namco Bandai make a mac version.

Wonderpod Episode 154

This week on Wonderpod. Another week of just two of us live on the show. It will be back to the normal 3 or 4 man crew mess next week. We talked nothing but gaming or gaming rumors. Which its important to note we say rumors a lot. Just to keep you from getting confused or take it as fact. Enjoy the show and your weekend.

Super Adventure Box

Its so rare to post something from an MMO that might have broad appeal on WPO. The fine folks from Arena have really done an amazing job with Guild Wars 2 since release. Keeping things fresh and giving players a reason to log in. This latest event the Super Adventure Box is like nothing I have played in an MMO before.

BWF Radio WM29 Pregame Show

This week on BWF Radio, we get Joe calling us live from outside the IZod arena waiting to get into WrestleMania 29. He depicts his experience from the crowd outside. He elaborates on his experience with his wife at the WWE Hall of Fame induction last night. The podcast goes slightly off the rails as we discuss how terrible WMV was, the new Evil Dead movie, terrible Hulk Hogan films, and more!
