Homefront: Single Player Gameplay

IGN has put out some single player footage of the upcoming game Homefront.  Our very own Bruce Mcgee is very interested in this title, and to be honets, so am I. The multiplayer sounds to be different from most of the other FPS out there and its about time we all had a new game to play together as shooting Zombies and space marines is getting tiresome.  I now share with you a short video of single player gameplay from Homefront from the good folks at IGN. And to be honest from the looks of this video, it doesn’t look inspired by Half life  as the developers have mentioned in the past, but more from the COD franchise.  Of corse this is just one very short video of a much bigger gameplay experience, so we really cant tell if it represents the whole game, however here it is for you all to take a look at and decide for your self what you think of this video. I for one have this game on my radar mostly for the multiplayer, but if this is a representation of the single player, it looks decent as well even if its very familiar.

This is the first trailer or game play video I have seen that even looks remotely like COD. I am not sure I want to doom this game to COD clone status over game mechanics. Which is really what that whole slow down sequence shown in the video is. I will be really surprised if this ends up being a COD clone as some are already trying to claim (not you Pat). Granted you can call almost any FPS a COD clone if your goal is simply to trash something.

As to the half-life thing. I haven't heard the developers say anything, I do know the game informer or maybe the IGN previewer said it had a half-life 2 vibe. Bottom line is, this video tends to annoy me going off what the developers and previewers are reporting. Then again it isn't like COD was the first to do slow mo action sequence. P.S. Halo invented jet packs

Yeah, in the PC gamer mag, they say that the developers were said to be "inspired by Half life", which would be very cool if they could MIX COD with Half Life I would like the concept. Don't look at the comments on youtube unless you want to see a bunch of COD fanboys saying its " another COD clone" , I guess they have not heard about the MP " Battle Commander missions"?

everyone check out this link for a PC preview

I for one invite the action of COD single player and the different MP ,to be honest. But time will tell with this one. I hope for the best.

Yeah I am reading it right now. I hadn't seen this much talk of half life inspiration. I saw it mentioned as a vibe like I said. Look lets be real here there is going to be some COD like elements in the kind of FPS. I will with hold my judgement until I see the total package. I have found to much to like to back out now. Whether I am right or I am wrong, I will give you my scope on the first Wonderpod after release (how was that promo guys?)
