The Great Khali: Don’t ask him for an autograph.

On January 21, 2011, around 11:30 PM, The Mediocre Khali’s drunken bodyguard decided to begin shooting his gun into a surging crowd of children and adults. Khali is reported to have been leaving the home of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab State Assemby, Mr. Satpal Gosain at the time.

Over the last couple of days, a variety of reports have been coming out with information that is not consistent. According to Slam wrestling, the fans amassed towards Khali as he left the dinner party held. Yet there are no reports of any other celebrities amongst the crowd. And keep in mind that the Great Khali towers over most people at a documented height of seven feet and one inch.

The Times of India describes the crowd as going “beserk” and that one of the “miscreants” in the mob even attempted to grab the gun from the bodyguard who opened fire top defend himself.

While Slam reports that the bodyguard had been drinking, it is interesting that the Times of India editorialize on behalf of the shooter by depicting the crowd as miscreants. According to two separate reports, it becomes apparent that the crowd was indeed hostile in some capacity. Furthermore, Khali seriously needs to address his hiring practices of his bodyguards. But, it gets shadier.

On Sunday, TMZ (the beacon of true information within the modern age), cites Khali claiming to have been a half an hour removed from the incident. Hence, not even present at the time of the shooting.

Here’s why it doesn’t add up, Mr. Khali. What would incite a large number of fans to suddenly rush a group of security guards not escorting the celebrity they had been awaiting outside the Indian politicians home? How many body guards does he have that are tall enough to block the public’s view? Clearly, the fact that numerous sources purport Khali’s presence combined with the sheer height of the wrestler seem to contradict his claim. It does not make sense that the crowd would rush the body guards for any other reason than to get to Khali.

As a wrestling fan, I sincerely hope that this is cleared up shortly and the truth is overhand chopped out of Khali. Let’s be frank… it appears Khali sucks at lying almost as much as he does at wrestling.
