How To Not Suck At Team Fortress 2

I’m going to assume you’re reading this for one of three possible reasons. One, you’re still new to Team Fortress 2 and you’re not really sure what you’re doing, frustrated, etc. Two, you’re not new, but you could use some pointers. Or three, you just read shit I post. Honestly, this FAQ of sorts is really more for a fourth option: those that truly, utterly suck at Team Fortress 2, but blame the fuck out of everything and everyone else rather than trying to get better.

MPX Retribution 9-10-11

Well, MPX’s most recent show is in the books. First of all, this had to have been their top-drawing card. I’m not exactly sure what brought the people out tonight: Mike Foxx, Athena, a casket match, the buzz over MPX in general. This is filling up a void in the DFW area for the good, quality wrestling. There were some great moments and there were some “indy craptacular” moments.

Patman Picks Stampede Wrestling Classics. Dr. D David Shultz vs Nick Bockwinkle

Welcome again to another fun trip back in pro wrestling history. Today we will visit a match involving one of Stampedes biggest stars at this point time, Dr. D David Shultz. Although a star in places like AWA, WWF, Japan and Stampede Wrestling , Dr. D is probably most famous for his big mouth both inside and outside the wrestling ring. It was his “open had slap” assault on a network reporter who mentioned that “Wrestling was fake” that is what most people remember Dr. D for. Ironically, it was that very event that put a halt on his career in the big wrestling organizations as his actions were rumored to result in a costly law suit that followed. Dr. D’s opponent in this classic match is the AWA World champion Nick Bockwinkle who, like other AWA world champions, would venture to the Calgary promotion several times per year to take on who ever was at the top of the card at the time. I am not sure where this match took place as it is not in the usual Stampede pavilion venue that the majority of Stampede Wrestling events were televised , but appears to be a smaller venue. Stampedes territory stretched across western Canada and even into north western US, so it could have been anywhere really. The crowd was pretty hot for the match and that’s all that matters for the Wrestlers putting on a show and Ed Whalen was there for the TV taping. Worth noting this time around is the fans chanting Nick “Bullwinkle”. Enjoy the match and decide for your self if it was a 2.5 count or a 3 count at the end !

Wonderpod Episode 79

Another fine episode of Wonderpod is ready. Your ear holes will burst with joy listening to this fine show. The usual suspects gathered to discuss all things gaming. We also did the standard arcane boxer shorts jokes as well. I am more of a boxer brief man myself, but I doubt that has anything to do with gaming.

Biff Zongo: Why Professional Wrestlers Can Kick Anybody’s Ass!

Fredrik: This comic is about the deeper philosophy of wrestling. It’s not just an edutainment, a sport, a religion. It’s a philosophy and a sacred way of life passed on from generation to generation through the TV.

Discount Bin Reviews: The Dark Knight (DVD)

My apologies to the Wonderpod viewership for my lack of posts the last few months, a busy work schedule and a demanding 17 month old just makes me want to relax most evenings and weekends when I have free time. But I digress, here I am to post a review, finally. All the buzz and spoilerific photos and videos from The Dark Knight Rises filmshooting sets inspired me to go back and rewatch the previous Chris Nolan Batman film, The Dark Knight. Hope you enjoy the review.

PatMan Picks Stampede Wrestling Classics. Davey Boy Smith VS Bret Hart.

Its that time again people, its time for some classic wrestling action. Welcome to another journey back in time as we explore Stampede Wrestlings great historic past. This time around lets watch a very good match between 2 former wrestlers from the Calgary promotion who were actually WWF employees at the time battling it out for the world tag team titles on the biggest stage of them all. However, in between their feud in the WWF, both men took time to return to their roots and lace up the boots in a Stampede Wrestling ring once again. Those 2 men were one half of the Hart foundation, Bret Hart, and his brother in law Davey Boy Smith who was of course one half of the British Bulldogs. Bret played the “Heel” in this classic encounter as Davey boy played the “Face” but lets face it, the crowd in Calgary loved both of these alumni. Worth noting is the appearance of the Dynamite Kid near the end of the video and of course and as always the classic commentary of Ed Whalen. Enjoy this great match and I will see you on the next episode of PatMan picks next time!

Biff Zongo – The Gentle Art of Poking a Dead Hooker

Fredrik: This was the first Biff Zongo-story ever and it was originally posted as a guest comic on Rene Engstrom’s popular “Anders Loves Maria”. That was before Jan started to draw Biff so this newer version looks way better. I woke up in the middle of the night and just had this story in my head… kind of scary!
