MPX One-Year Anniversary Show 4-23-11

Tonight was a solid show. Everything worked well and gelled together. Quick warning: I’m not going to talk about my segment. I really shouldn’t be the one to critique myself. It seemed there were a lot of people there. More and more people are beginning to show up. I’m seeing MPX get more buzz. There are wrestlers leaving comments on people’s Facebook about looking for bookings there. Wrestling promoters are coming there scouting talent. I talked to a fan afterwards who had been there for the first time and liked it. MPX has survived a lot of difficulties, and it’s nice to see them celebrate one year.

They began the night with the recap. It would be nice to have a voiceover. Kate walked out sporting a new haircut (the consensus was positive from the Ruff family). And she was rocking the obligatory bunny ears. She gave the thanks for all the responsible parties. And the action started, and it started quickly.

Cargo! The Quest For Gravity (impressions)

I’ve always loved weird games. Games that are really out there, like weird dreams and Pyschonauts. I am sure I have forgotten some, but you get the general idea. So today Jim Sterling posted a link on twitter about a game called Cargo! The quest for gravity. The game is developed by ice-pick lodge a Russian developer. If I read it right, the entire studio is in a two bedroom apartment. As always this will not be a review, just me sharing my thoughts on this unique wild little game.

Duke Nukem Trailer Show Games Age, Yet Still Looks Good.

The latest Duke Nukem Forever trailer has hit the web a few days ago, filled with everything you would expect for a sequel to the PC classic. By everything of course I mean tits, ass, urination, cheesy one liners and insane action. Its what made Duke Nukem 3D so funny and fun to play back all those years ago, but will it still be relevant toady?  I notice 2 things about this trailer. The first is that it shows the age of the game, it literally took nearly” forever” to come out and even with a graphical update from its original form 12 years ago, it still shows sings of age compared to the Crysis and Gears Of War games out there. The second thing I noticed was its very similar in formula to Duke Nukem 3D, and for that I personally am glad. So, personally, I will take the less polished look of the game if it still has the same humor and action of the PC classic. I am cautiously optimistic about this title and hope to be enjoying it in the future but I do realize that a game delayed for all those years could end up  being a big disappointment. Its about time it came out  and started kicking ass , because everyone has been all out of gum for a long, long time .

Power Poll for the Week Ending: 4/21/11… apparently…

Sigh, another week of results coming late. And an episode of Smackdown and iMPACT have already aired since the vote cutoff. That makes things confusing, because things happen on those shows that should be relevant to our ranking. But they’re not. Nonetheless, the stats remain semi-relevant.

PatMan Plays 3DS : More AR Photos !

Another weekend is upon us, and  for many its a  much deserved long weekend. I personally have 4 days off to relax and play games, heck  if I have to I may even enjoy some time with the family!  I have been away from the internet for the last few days, save an occasional facebook update here and there, but that hasn’t stopped me from collecting a few more 3DS  AR card shots for all to see. So, check out some more 3DS pics I have taken over the last week or so while you enjoy your big Turkey dinner or whatever you decide to do this long Easter weekend. The photos are right here, after the break.

Wonderpod Episode 60

Wonderpod 60 is here and just as wild as ever. Nothing could stop this show from happening. There was a virus, a giant can of red paint and poor PatMan was last seen on a milk carton. None of that slowed us down, although it may have had its influence on some things. We got a certain blue puppet and his buddy to fill in for the missing Canadian. We hope both PatMan and his house find the way home soon. Here have the list of stuff.

iMPACT 04/21/11

We’re hot off the heels of last Sunday’s Lockdown PPV, one that featured some decent matches (and Kurt Angle almost killing himself, again). What will Wayne Arnold and the crew serve up tonight?

Discount Bin Reviews: Jennifer’s Body (DVD)

As it turns out with a great number of my reviews, I end up reviewing movies, games, etc that I have personally picked out, purchased or rented. And as a habit I usually choose to spend my money on things I’m fairly certain I will like. Sort of like when I choose food from a menu. Having browsed the video store shelves this past weekend and discovered that the selection of previously unseen safe-bets were somewhat limited, we picked up a few movies that we would be taking a chance on. One of those risky film choices was “Jennifer’s Body” starring Megan Fox; a film that I knew wasn’t critically renowned but was considered to be somewhat endearing to others. Like a dish recommended by one friend but hated by another. So how did it taste? Read on, gentle readers, read on to find out.

Brawler of the Year – 1993

This year we start seeing many more console titles. They’re not always that great, but they’re there all the same! Actually, this year was tied up for a while, but it eventually became clear who the true winner was.

Minecraft Baseball

I know you are all tired of hearing me talking about being sick. Good news on that front, I am pretty sure I died last night. I am now one of Audiomaster G’s favorite people. In other words a zombie, that is the only explanation I have for my continued animation. Even better news I don’t think I can get any uglier even as a zombie. So my love life should stay them about the same. I am not even sure what I am talking about any more lets move on.
