Adventure Game of the Year – 1992

There were 17 games this year. While certain titles were obvious runner ups for me, it took some time to decide #3. Sure, I already pretty much had in mind what I wanted for the top 2, but the 3rd was especially elusive for a time. This was an…interesting…year for adventure games. You’ll start to see more and more “pervert” titles on this list. I mean, sure, I liked games like Leisure Suit Larry, but some of these are just ridiculous.

Dookie Calls

Thursday the day we record a podcast. I suppose it should be known as the day we attempt to record podcast. Tonight will be our second attempt at recording episode 50. After sitting down with Audiomaster G last night I am 95% sure we will get it done this time. 5% chance of failure is actually about right and par for the course. Even in this digital age, software and distance can make audio recording so fun. Plus G got a new nick name out of the deal.

G invades a podcast? What?

It’s a funny world. I found myself invited by a gentleman by the name of Dan from a place that no longer exists that podcasted with this here G about the “wrestlemans.” They are a noble crew indeed. So we decided to be smarks and whatnot and deliver something unique in the form of a… wax-cylinder recording. Podcast, if you will.

Late=No Image

Hump day is upon us and with it the tell tale sign of zombie ferrets. They will creep out of your pants and in to the night hunting for vegemite. They are similar to tweak’s under pants Gnomes, only far more lethal. I am pretty sure that is why they call it hump day. The zombie ferrets will hump your face off if you have no vegemite.

RPG of the Year – 1992

This time around I noticed there are more console titles and the SNES especially is getting a good start. Unfortunately, most of those titles don’t belong on a top 5 list. Sure, games like Mystic Quest and Soul Blazer are fun, but out of all the rest? Ha, no. Not too surprisingly, there are a lot of great PC RPGs this time around, making it pretty hard to call it in some cases. There are 22 titles this time, so let’s hop into it!

I Don’t Like Spam!!!!

Hello and welcome to the opening paragraph. I have such a bloody hard time getting these things started. Hell how many times can you say happy Tuesday before it becomes boring. Either I need to make my coffee stronger in the morning or just live with standard boring openings. Right now I am wondering how mad Pat is going to get if I start using NSFW images in my post to draw traffic. I am after all a whore.

PatMan Plays : Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3. Rebel Strike

The popular Rogue Squadron series originated back on the N64 and turned into a big hit for Lucas Arts and developer Factor 5. With a recipe of fast action, great graphics and the ability to play in many of the famous vehicles, ships  and settings of the original Star Wars movies, Factor 5 would create a strong following. The Gamecube sequel took that successful formula from the N64 and jumped it into light speed, taking everything that fans loved from the original and making it that much better. And then, yet again, Lucas Arts  released yet another game in this series making it a trilogy of sorts, somewhat fitting considering what movies they are based upon. This time Factor 5  added new game play features along with some “old school” arcade surprises. Did Lucas Arts go to the well one to many times , or did  this formula work again?  The question now arises, can a sequel of a sequel truly stand up to its successful predecessors? Read more »

Monday!! Monday!! Monday!!

Long entertaining weekends make Monday all that much more painful. It is still early in the morning so I have no evidence to support that claim per say. It is entirely possible much like an over used fat orange cat I just Loathe Mondays. Given the antics of last week maybe it is time to start loving them. Something to ponder anyway.

The NHL Guardian Project

The Legendary Stan Lee has joined forces with the NHL to conger up an all new comic superhero squad like no other, the Guardian Project. Every NHL team is represented by a specific franchise hero for the purpose of being shown off at the all star game this year. An interesting and fun concept where fans can vote as to who they want to see first via facebook. And, although I was both a much bigger comic book fan and NHL fan in my younger years I found these characters to be humorous and somewhat interesting. Lets take a look at a few of the NHL Guardians.
