Combat Wombat Attacks!: Lost Shores GW2

So yesterday I introduced you all to the Combat Wombat Guild and they are a great bunch of folks just like the WPO crew. Today I am going to show you some of the antics I get up to with them in Guild Wars 2. A great use of the screen shots I have and I need to thank Pat for the idea. I may do more from time to time.

Better Late Than Never: Torchlight 2 (Impressions)

Welcome to the Better Late Then Never series. Basically it will be me looking at games that I have missed or put off long after release. While it may be old news is old to some, there is value in bringing up good games that I just got around to playing. Never know there might be one or two you forgot about. The first game up on the block is Torchlight 2. Not really that old, but one I put off due to the massive amount of time I spent in Guild Wars 2

The Opposite Of A Gamer Dick

Since the early days of our podcast, we have spent a lot of time complaining about dicks. Gamer dicks to be more specific and less crude. It’s always a good time to trash some jerk on air. I doubt highly we ever shame them, but it’s still good for laughs. The problem is we hardly ever talk about the other side of the coin. The good folks in gaming who help each other out. After my long rainy weekend of gaming I have decided it’s time to change that. Time to pay tribute to the people who help each other out. Let’s hope this post will restore your faith in humanity, even if only slightly.

BoredWrestlingFan Radio Episode 49 (MP3, 2:32:12)

Smackdown 11/16/12: Buyrates are important, I’m told.

With Survivor Series only days away, this would be the WWE’s last ditch effort to squeeze the buy rate juice out of it’s viewers… too bad many people have stopped watching Smackdown. Why you may ask? Perhaps because it has lately been a rehash of RAW matches from the previous Monday, or the same ones to follow on the next Monday. And tonight we get THREE non-title matches, or so I’m led to believe. Great. Whoop dee doo. Let’s hop to it, shall we? …until the juice runs down my leg.

Wonderpod Episode 136

This weeks Wonderpod is literally a three topic show. Two of the topics are actually timely and possibly informative. This shocking trend of being on top of things can not continue can it? Also of note, the banner this week is a shout out to the early days of the podcast. The top image is the banner from episode four and the bottom image from episode eleven. Enjoy the show!

My Thoughts On Earthbound

Earthbound. A game that for many is a fond, but distant memory. A game that did so much and (used to) receive so little recognition. A game that upon a distant glance doesn’t look like its anything special, but provides a fun, deep, and rewarding experience. Earthbound is one of the best SNES RPGs in existence, providing a quirky, surreal experience to all who would frequent it.

Steamed! – Diamond Dan

Diamond Dan

Current selling price: $9.99

These days I’m kinda picky about puzzle games. This is strange too, because when I find a puzzle game I really like, I tend to stick with it. Diamond Dan is best described as an action/platformer/puzzle game that also has a strong point gathering element with lots of risk/reward elements as well. It’s a fun, but quickly difficult title, especially farther into the game and difficulty settings.

The biggest frustrations from Diamond Dan come from the fact that the labyrinth is constantly changing. Well, that and the way the game determines your bonuses is specifically by engaging and avoiding traps. So in other words, if you trigger an arrow trap, but manage to dodge it, you rack up a multiplier. After the multiplier is in effect, you should try to grab as much treasure as possible.

However, if you don’t hit a checkpoint and you get killed, you lose all that shit. So there’s definitive risk/reward at play, you constantly have to pay attention to your surroundings, and you can very easily get walled in if you’re not careful. It can be pretty frustrating, but overall Diamond Dan is a worthy addition to any puzzle gamer’s collection. Screenshots follow.

Zombie Apocalypse Part 2 (LFT minecraft server)

Time for the second and final installment of the Zombie night on the LFT server. In this video we learn that zombies aren’t the only dicks wandering the darkened streets of Glaserton. I will apologize in advance for not capturing the actual troll attack very well. Kind of hard when idiot douche puppets are trying to fill your face with arrows. To me this video gives you a general idea of how the night went from scary zombie fun to annoying idiot theater. Honestly wished it hadn’t gone down this way, but what you going to do. Trolls gonna troll!!!!

The Wonderpod Crew Plays: Halo 4.

What is going on people? PatMan here with a few  screen shots of the Wonderpod Crew in action playing Halo 4 online. Needless to say by now you have heard that the game is very good and of course a lot of fun. So I am not going to post yet another high scoring review of the game for you guys to read because, frankly, I bet you have had enough of that. What I am going to do is post a few screens of the members of the Wpod crew that are playing together online at night. One thing needs to be clear here for the Halo fanatics, we are not ” hardcore”  Halo gamers. While our kill streaks and game play stats may play a part in our games, having FUN and playing together is what is most important. Theater mode is not fully operational on Halo Wayepoint at the time I post this and thus I cannot post actual high res screens until its back up and running. The same goes for any video as well.  However that didn’t stop me from taking a few shots with my iPhone and sharing them here anyways, even if they are not the best quality. So check out a few screens below of the members of the crew that play Halo 4 having  fun!
