The Interwebs Are Down, Please Don’t Call 911.

Wow, I can’t believe surfing the internet allowed me to discover something that answered that big question that has plagued mankind… caused wars, created religions, made humans reconsider every action they take on this celestial sphere…

BWF Radio Episode 7

I think our theme music ran away crying when Brodus Clay busted out “Somebody Call My Momma” as his theme song. So as such, we don’t have any music this week. Just Joe, JT, G, and Pintnoir talking the finer points of wrestling, such as Brodus Clay in Kane’s lingerie, the effects of cats on a Nintendo Wii console, and some bingo hall in Philadelphia. We start with a replay of the main event title match at Genesis. Where the heelish Roode kicks the ref to get disqualified to hold on the world title. Hardy twist of fate’s him and leaves a selfish Robert kissing the title.

Roode comes out with a cocky demeanor. Taking his time as the crowd boos him for cheating Hardy. Roode wants to call out Jeff to shake his hand. But instead gets Sting. Who tells The Selfish One that he will have a rematch with Hardy tonight. But this time if Roode tries to cheat his disqualification will result in the title changing hands. PatMan Picks N64 Favorites. Banjo-Kazooie

Super Mario 64 was a revolutionary and amazing launch title on the N64. It was like nothing else I had ever played. It set the bar very high for all other 3D platform games that came after it and honestly, many future titles would not match it in terms of game play or fun. Banjo Kazooie may not have had the same historic and ground breaking impact Mario had, but not only was it every bit as fun of a game to play, it also exceed Mario 64 in some aspects. For me, Banjo Kazooie did something that doesn’t occur often in the would of video games, it matched the magic of a Mario title. Banjo Kazooie looked absolutely great for its time back on the N64, thanks to the talented developers at Rare who were always producing gorgeous looking titles. Its true that the game play in Banjo was very much inspired by Mario but it didn’t matter because thanks to Rare, Banjo Kazooie had interesting characters and unique worlds to explore all of its own. Although Mario 64 was a fairly open world game, Banjo Kazooie took this concept even further by incorporating more of an adventure element to its game play focusing on both platforming and also a lot of exploration. Banjo Kazooie also had that great sense of humor that could be found in many titles developed by Rare at that time. Banjo would later get a sequel on the N64 with even bigger levels and more exploration along with the very often forgotten GBA title, but I  will always prefer the original.

Friday has wandered in and with it another Wonderpod. Consider this the first regular show of the new year. Mind you there is nothing regular about the festival of merriment we are bringing. Any show you talk about food and old people has to be good. Eventually we get down to the business of video games. We all know that’s the serious part. So sit back and get naked, it’s time for the show.

TCR Comix: Happy Birthday, John A.!

Yesterday was the birthday of Sir John A. MacDonald, the first Prime Minister and founding father of Canada, and it went by pretty much unnoticed.  Heck, if it weren’t for a Twitter update from Kate Beaton, I probably wouldn’t even have known it.  Which is kind of funny, because, in contrast, George Washington’s birthday is celebrated as a statutory holiday (along with that Lincoln guy).  It’s just one of the ways Canadians and Americans are very different people, I suppose.
